Terry Cartwright

Terry is the son of the late James and Virginia Cartwright. He is a graduate of Elgin ISD 1966. He attended mortuary school after high school and then worked at several large funeral homes for seven years. He then moved to Groveton and purchased the Biscamp Funeral Home in 1972. The Biscamp Funeral Home later became the Groveton Funeral Home where Mr. Cartwright is still the current owner and director. Mr. Cartwright has been very active in the Groveton community. He has served on the Groveton Volunteer Fire Department for many years in the past. He serves as chairman of the board of stewarts for the First United Methodist Church and as the Vice President of the Groveton Farm Bureau. He also is a member of the Eastern Star Lodge #284 A.F. & A.M. Terry is married to Cheryl Taylor Cartwright, has four daughters Cassandra, Celeste, Cristin and Chelsea.

Cheryl Taylor Cartwright was born in Yoakum, Texas and moved to Groveton in 1965. She is the daughter of Marion Staggs Taylor and the late Robert "Bob" Taylor. She attended and graduated from Groveton Schools in 1976. Cheryl has been working for Trinity County since 1979. She was then elected and took office as the District Clerk in 1991 and served until her retirement in 2014. Cheryl is the wife of Terry Cartwright and the mother of Cristin Cartwright and Chelsea Cartwright Braddock. She has been helping out around the funeral home since 1977. Cheryl is the choir director at the Groveton First United Methodist Church and is a member of Eastern Star Chapter 1035.
