Zoy Lea Kendrick was born in Crecy, Texas on January 31, 1934 the daughter of the late Leonard O' Kendrick and Dona Lee (Jones) Kendrick. She passed away on November 12, 2018 in Spring, Texas at the age of 84 years.
Zoy loved her family and she especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. She was an extremely hard worker and loved to live life to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining, as well as dabbling with ceramics and sewing. Zoy also had a great love for country music and you could always find her listening to the classics.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children: son, Charles Steven Johnson and wife, Latone of Spring, Texas; daughter, Deborah Gaston and husband, David Myers of Spring; daughter, Kimberly Johnson of Spring, Texas; brother, Willie Doyle Kendrick and wife, Shirley of New Caney, Texas; sister, Ila Mae Grace of Tomball, Texas; sister, Dona Sue Ford and husband, David of Groveton, Texas; grandchildren: Stephanie Johnson, Charles Steven Johnson, Jr., Christopher William Johnson, Heather Gaston, Seth Gaston, Chad Gaston, Samantha Wellmeier and Christian Johnson; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other beloved relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Johnson and her beloved parents, Leonard and Dona Kendrick.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018 in the Oaklawn Baptist Church with Bro. Lester McAdams officiating. Burial will follow in Bennett Cemetery in Apple Springs, Texas.
