Woody Roland Pruitt Jr, of Pennington, passed away Friday, February11, 2022, at the age of 83, peacefully in Lufkin, surrounded by his beloved family. Woody was born on June 23, 1938, in Trinity County Texas(rural) to parents, Woody Roland Pruitt Sr. and Sarah Naomi (Cook) Pruitt. In 1966, Woody married the love of his life Billie. Over 56years of marriage, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and a little heartache. Together, their faith in Jesus Christ saw them through it all.

Woody was a selfless man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed spending time with her family, especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren. Woody was on the Groveton School Board, Trinity Co. Fair Association, the Pennington Fire Department, and the Pennington Water Board. He also was a member of the Flat Prairie Congregational Methodist Church. Woody was also a Veteran of the United States Air Force.

Woody leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife, of 56 years Billie Pruitt; children: daughter, Teresa Ginn  and husband, Dennis of Lovelady, TX; sons: Michael Pruitt and wife, Teddi of Santa Fe, TX, James Pruitt and Carrie Shadbolt of Trinity, TX; granddaughters: Amanda Pruitt, Christina Pruitt, Whitney Perez, Mikayla Pruitt, Emmaleigh Shadbolt; Great Grandchildren: Maren Beesley, Morgan Holdren, Gabriel Perez, Laurel Beesley, Bowen Beesley, Zoey Perez; brothers: Jerry Pruitt of Groveton, TX, Don Pruitt of Pennington, TX; and a host of Other Relatives, and many friends also survive.

Woody is preceded in death by his loving parents, Woody R. Pruitt, SR., and Naomi Pruitt; nephew: David Pruitt.

The family will welcome visitors beginning, Monday, February 14, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Flat Prairie Congregational Methodist Church. Celebration of Life Services will be held Monday, February 14, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Flat Prairie Congregational Methodist Church with Bro. Mitch Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at the Flat Prairie Cemetery.
