Obituary

Willie Doyle Kendrick Sr. of New Caney, Texas, was born on August 2, 1938, in Groveton, Texas to Leonard Obediah Kendrick and Dona Lee (Jones) Kendrick and passed away to his eternal home on October 31, 2021, at the age of 83 years in New Caney, Texas.

Mr. Kendrick is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Kendrick of New Caney, TX; daughter, Lenora Stubbs and husband, Michael of Grapeland, TX; daughter, Patricia Romo and husband, Richard of Deer Park, TX; son, Willie Kendrick Jr. and wife, Edie of Splendora, TX, sisters, Ila Mae Burroughs Grace of Tomball, TX, Dona Sue Ford and husband, David of Groveton, TX; grandchildren: Michael Wayne Stubbs Jr. and wife, Brittany, Sierra Leyva and husband, Brian, Joshua Stubbs and wife, Jessica, Amy Kendrick, Lindsey Rodriguez, Katelyn Kendrick, Adam Romo, Jessica Brent, Emily Ricciardi; great grandchildren: Brianne Stubbs, Makenzie Stubbs, Brooklyn Stubbs, Eli Leyva, Virginia Leyva, Asher Leyva, Jordyn Stubbs, Wyatt Austin, Levi Bass, Jamison Stubbs; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also, survive.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Dona Kendrick; sister: Zoylea Johnson.

Willie loved fishing and hunting. He also coached the girls' softball for many years. Willie married the love of his life January 20,1961 at the Shady Dale Baptist Church of Houston, TX. Mr. Kendrick became a Baptist Deacon April 10, 1971. Willie was affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Porter, Tx. For many years he was very active with church.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 5, 2021, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Porter, TX.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Porter First Baptist Church in Porter, Texas, Committal services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021, all with Bro. Troy Cates officiating
