Obituary

The Good Lord needed a most special angel on March 5th. Willie Freeman went peacefully at home surrounded by his family two days after his 67th birthday following a battle with cancer.

Willie was born on March 3, 1954. He attended high school in Groveton, Texas and has lived in Longview, Texas for 40 years. He was an AIR FORCE veteran who served his country in the Republic of Vietnam. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling with wife Donna, and spending time with family and his fur babies Bizzy and JoJo. Willie spent most of his career working in the oil and gas industry, most recently as a Consultant for Diamondback in West Texas.

Willie was preceded in death by his wonderful parents that anyone in this world could possibly have, Lillie Butler Freeman and Weaver Leon Freeman, Sr. Willie always said, "he would not have been half the man he was without being so lucky to have been born to such exceptional parents". He was also preceded in death by his brother, Weaver Leon "Bo" Freeman, Jr., and mother-in-law, Anna Lou Osborn.
His survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Donna See Freeman; his children: son, Neil White and wife, Jennifer White; daughter, Tamara Palmer and husband, Steve Palmer; daughter, Kelly Corbin and husband, D.J. Corbin; daughter, Cassie Freeman and Darrell Williams; grandchildren: Makayla White, Alexis Palmer, Ashley Palmer, Avery Corbin, Sarah Sallas, Lane Rhodes, and Autumn Squires; siblings: sister, Laura Angie and husband, L.D. Morgan; sister, Fran Whittenton; brother, John Edgar Freeman; sister-in-law, Judy Freeman; sister-in-law, Marilyn Shirley and husband, Doug Shirley; father-in-law, Robert Osborn; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, also survive.
Visitation for Willie Herman Freeman will begin at 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 8, 2021 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, TX with James Vernell Anderson officiating and L.D. Morgan assisting. Burial will follow at Pennington Cemetery in Pennington, TX.
Pallbearers: Steve Palmer, D.J. Corbin, Darrell Williams, Kris Faye, Mark Avery and Brian Avery.
