Funeral services for William Perry Bruce, Sr., 62, of the Hill Town community of Pennington will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 25, in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of the Groveton Funeral Home with Brother James Bickley officiating and Tresea Land and Sharon Walker assisting. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Wells. The family will receive visitors Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Groveton Funeral Home.
William was born on May 21, 1953 at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas to the late Perry Lewis Bruce, Sr. and Bonnie (Wagnone) Bruce and passed away September 21, 2015 in Tomball. He was the alpha of the family. He was always the first to know what was going on with his children and did the best that he could to make sure that they all knew how to behave. He was a man with a huge heart and was a very loving and caring person. William loved his family more than words could describe. He worked for John Powers doing Air Conditioning and Heating for numerous years. He was a very hard worker and he loved to work. During Mr. Bruce's off time, he especially enjoyed going dancing. He was a music lover and enjoyed anything with a beat. He also loved the outdoors and spending time out on the water fishing.
Mr. Bruce is survived by his wife Iris Bruce of Magnolia; his children, daughter Anita Westbrook and husband Rick of Pennington, son William P. Bruce, Jr. and wife Tonya of Magnolia, step daughter Teresa Wolff of Magnolia, step son Matt Wolff and wife Toni of Magnolia and step son Johnny Wolff of Magnolia; grandchildren Krystle Ladwig and husband Jacob of Atascocita, Nicole Vaden and husband AT of Splendora, William W. Bruce and wife Skylor of Atascocita, Ashley Bruce, Sarah Bruce and Trinity Bruce, all of Magnolia; step grandchildren Devin Wolff, Chasity McElroy, Wyatt Wolff, Lechelle' Jones and husband Justin, Brook Heald and husband Michael, Jacob Wolff and Maranda Wolff; great grandchildren Cameryn Ladwid, Christopher Salgado, Paisley Ladwig, Addison Hernandez, Bryer Vaden, Bentley Bruce and Greyson Bruce; step great grandchildren McKenzie Jones, Brody Jones and Marshall Heald; sisters Bonnie Marbury of Little Rock, Mississippi and Beulah Bruce of Pennington and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Perry Bruce, Robert Bruce and Darvol Hart and a sister Brenda Nave.
Pallbearers are William W. Bruce, James Adams, Troye Wagnone, Jacob Ladwig, AT Vaden, Gerald Gibson, Bubba Barlow, Curtis Hill, and John Powers.
Honorary Pallbearers are William P. Bruce, Jr. and Benny Maness.
