Wanda Joyce Cochran Harris Pillows was born in Huntington, Texas on August 20, 1940 to Felix Prentis Cochran and Hildred Bertha Holcombe Cochran. She passed away on January 15, 2019 in Lufkin, Texas at the age of 78 years.
Mrs. Pillows was a wonderful woman who loved to live life to its fullest. She loved many things about her life, but her family was her greatest joy. She enjoyed spending much of her time with her grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren. She also loved to read, travel and attend monthly singings. She belonged to the Eastern Star Lodge #1035 and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Groveton.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Felix P. Cochran and Hildred Cochran; son, Randall "Randy" Harris; brother, Ferrell Douglas Cochran and her husband, Jerry Harris. Her survivors include her loving husband, Billy Alton Pillows of Apple Springs, TX; son, Gary Harris and wife, Laurie Harris of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Denise Harris Gerren of Rockdale, TX; siblings: Leland Cochran of Central, TX; Marilyn Davis and husband, Rayford Davis of Groveton, TX; Larry Cochran of Apple Springs, TX; Felita Fischer of Conroe, TX; grandchildren: David Harris and wife, Briana Harris of Oklahoma City, OK; Nicholas Gerren and wife, Rebecca Gerren of Rockdale, TX; Wesley Gerren and wife, Jordan Gerren of Tomball, TX; eight great grandchildren and a host of special nieces, nephews and other beloved relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Groveton Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Jason Bankhead officiating services Rev. Larry Dunn assisting. Burial will follow in Bennett Cemetery in Apple Springs, TX.
