Vivian Newby, 88, of Lovelady, Texas, passed away on July 13, 2017 peacefully in her sleep.  Vivian was born on March 23, 1929 in Trinity, Texas.  She was the eldest of ten children born to Edward and Ethel Maddox.  She loved her family and she raised all her younger siblings after the death of their parents.  She was a hard worker and loved to work.  Vivian also enjoyed going to fish whenever she found the time.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday July 17, 2017 at Zion Hill Cemetery in the Friday community of Trinity County.  Burial will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery.

Vivian is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd Franklin Newby; brother Clifton Maddox; sisters: Helen Irene, Zora Belle and Thelma Louise; step son Bradly Franklin Newby; step daughter Deborah Kay Hall and her step granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Hall as well her many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Newby is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Edward and Ethel Lane Maddox; five sisters: Ruth, Bertie, Lilian, Viola and Ann as well as her two step sons, Michael and Douglas Newby.
