Velda Wayne Reynolds, of Groveton, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the age of 87, peacefully in her home, surrounded by her beloved family. Wayne was born on October 7, 1934, in Trinity, Texas to parents, George Bayless and Iva (Jones) Bayless. In 1952, Velda Wayne married the love of her life Lynn Reynolds. Over nearly 7 decades of marriage, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and a little heartache. Together, their faith in Jesus Christ saw them through it all.

Wayne was a selfless woman who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed spending tie with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Wayne worked at Groveton First Bank for over 20 years. She also was a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years. Wayne was also a member of the game Canasta.

Wayne leaves behind to cherish her memories, her children: daughter, Katherine Lynn Brown and fiancé, Edward of Groveton; son, Gary Wayne Reynolds of Carlisle; sister: Georgia Bayless; grandchildren: Amy Lynn Nelson and husband, Chris of San Antonio, Jim Carroll of Japan, Kevin Wayne Reynolds and fiancé, Amanda of Groveton, and Shelly Jean Reynolds of Groveton; step granddaughter, Courtney Rector and step grandson, Clyde Brown of Tomball; 15 great grand children; 6 great great grand children; daughter-in-law; Lindy Reynolds: and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

Wayne is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lynn Reynolds; son: Jerry Don Reynolds; parents: George and Iva Bayless; brother: James Bayless; sister: Jewel Minter.

The family will welcome visitors beginning, Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lester McAdams officiating. Interment will follow at the Carlisle Cemetery.
