Obituary

Truman Everett Fussell, 85, of Lufkin, Texas passed away peacefully on September 3, 2017 at his home in Lufkin, Texas.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas with Pastor Mark Wilke officiating.  Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas.

He was born to Le Roy Fussell and Nina (Green) Fussell on November 19, 1931 in Trinity County, Texas.

Mr. Fussell was a member of Carpenters' Way Baptist Church in Lufkin, Texas and belonged to the Sunshine Sunday School Class.  He was an avid vegetable gardener who loved to share his harvest with others.  He loved to cook for his family and friends as well as his T & T church group and Redtown church group.

He served in the United States Army and participated in the Korean Conflict.  He later worked as a pipefitter for Lufkin Industries until his retirement.

He is survived by his two daughters:  Barbara Lynne (Fussell) Stott and husband, John Stott of Lufkin, Texas and Kelley Jo (Fussell) Erol of Lufkin, Texas;  grandchildren: Sarah Elizabeth (Stott) Rosenzweig, John Aaron Stott and wife, Crystal Stott, Jared Alexander Beard, Jasmine Breann Beard and Edward Pool; great grandchildren:  Madison, Jayden, Emma Kate, Kobe, Jacques, Kadence, Jaycee Jewel; special niece, Diane Kemler and many other much loved nieces and nephews; lifelong friends, Wendell Morris, Doris Bell and Palmer Arnold and many more.

Mr. Fussell is preceded in death by both of his parents: Nina Lillian (Green) Fussell and LeRoy Fussell; his wife, Ann Lea (Doyle) Fussell; his brothers:  Lloyd, Cloyce Lee and Billy Charles Fussell and sisters:  Winnie Everline (Fussell) Antley and Laverne (Fussell) Waller.

Pallbearers:  Aaron Stott, Edward Pool, Rich Kemler, Josh Cutler, Anthony Doyle and Roger Doyle.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Members of Sunshine Sunday School Class.
