Thomas Wayne Thompson, of Groveton, Texas, formerly of Lufkin, Texas was born on January 5, 1948, in the Westville community, the third son of James Elmer (Preacher) Thompson and Georgia Juanita Thompson and passed away peacefully to his eternal home in heaven on December 22, 2021, at the age of 73 years in California.
Mr. Thompson grew up on the L-C ranch and loved the country life. He served in the Marine Corp during the Viet Nam war and received the Purple Heart for his extensive injuries. He enjoyed driving a truck for L.G. McDonald and hauling for both Stevenson and Holloman Distributors. Wayne accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior on July 16, 1970 and followed in believers baptism.
Wayne is survived by his son, Jason Wayne Thompson; granddaughter, Brynn Thompson; sister, Dorothy Rosser and husband, Morris; brother, Mike Thompson and wife, Maria; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, and friends also survive.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, James Elmer (Preacher) Thompson and Georgia Juanita Thompson; his wife, Carolyn Thompson; and his brother, Patrick Gordon Thompson.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 6 PM at Groveton Funeral Home Chapel in Groveton, Texas with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating.
