Sheila Marie
Smith
Jun 26, 1955 — Dec 30, 2024
Dickinson
Sheila was born on June 26, 1955, to Jack and Wilma Moore. They instilled in her the values of hard work, determination, and independence.
Sheila graduated from high school, married, and had a family. When Amy started school, Sheila began a career as a warehouse employee at a chemical plant. She made many friends and became deeply knowledgeable in that field.
Later in life, after having Megan, she left work behind and became a stay-at-home mom again. During this time, she also became a grandmother. Sheila enjoyed staying home with Megan and watching her granddaughters Kayla and Kelsey.
Sheila enjoyed raising parrots, love birds and finches. She spent a lot of time caring for them and her dogs. She had a love for animals, especially her dogs Bailey and Little Bit. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds. She loved flowers and plants and had a green thumb, often rescuing dying plants from Amy's house and reviving them back to life. She would often get onto both of her girls for not doing a better job at keeping their plants alive and healthy. More recently, she became a grandma again and a great grandma. These would prove to be her most joyful moments in life. She loved all the grand babies, and often came to Amy's house to help babysit. She was incredibly involved in watching the grandchildren with her daughters. Some of her favorite times was spent at Megan's playing with Jessie, and hearing Jessie call her "Maw." She was always taking pictures capturing moments of the grand babies. These were the times she enjoyed most. She passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024.
Sheila was preceded in death by her grandmother, Grace Smith; grandfather, Escar Smith; aunt and uncle, Hazel, and Carl Moore.
She leaves behind her cherished children: daughter, Amy Carlson and husband, Thomas; daughter, Megan Castillo and husband, Beaux; her treasured grandchildren: Kayla Timm and husband, Austin Timm; Kelsey Carlson and wife, Reanna; Jessie Castillo and Georgia Castillo; her great-grandchildren: Emily and Kyle Timm and Stevie Carlson; parents: Jack and Wilma Moore; brother, Morris Moore and wife, Jeanie; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
