Seldon Prothro was born September 25,1926 in Centralia, Texas to William Prothro and Evie (Campbell) Prothro and passed away peacefully on the same land he was born on November 30, 2022, at the age of ninety-six years in Centralia, TX.

Seldon loved farming and ranching after he retired from Baker Oil and Tools in Houston, where he worked for 30years. December21,1949 Seldon married the love of his life Marie. He was a selfless man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He never met a stranger. Seldon was a member of Calvary Cemetery Board, Johnson/Tullos, Apple Springs Senior Citizen Center, and the Nogalus Centralia Water Supply Company for many years.

Mr. Seldon is survived by his loving wife, Marie Luce Prothro of 73 years on December 21:  son, Michael Seldon Prothro and wife, Sondra of Centralia, TX; granddaughter: Mika McMullen and husband Bradley of Centralia; grandson: Myles Prothro of Centralia; great grandsons: Connor Kaufman, Bradyn Kaufman, Daniel Johnson, and Beau McMullen; and A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and special lifelong friends also survive.

Seldon is preceded in death by his parents: William and Evie Prothro; sister: Margie Borchers; brothers: Clois Prothro, and Clinton Doyle Prothro. Pearl.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Nogalus, TX.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10,2022 at the Johnson/Tullos Cemetery with Bro. James Whittlesey officiating.

Interment in Johnson/Tullos Cemetery.
