Funeral services for Mr. Rufus Rogers of Rogersville in Trinity County will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Groveton Funeral Home Cartwright Memorial Chapel with Bro.Buford Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Possum Walk Cemetery. Mr. Rogers was born on April 15, 1912 in Douglas, Texas and passed away on January 19, 2013 in Lufkin, Texas at the age of 100. He was a member of the Josserand Baptist Church and was a farmer and a carpenter.  He is preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Mandy Hearne Rogers, wife Ollie Hollis Rogers, Children: Dani Harden, Joe C. Rogers and Roy Rogers.He leaves to survive a sister: Lilly Antley of Groveton, Texas; Children: Jim Bob Rogers and wife Donna of Arkansas, Lela Self of Lufkin, Texas, R.B. Rogers of Rogersville, Eunice Norsworthy of Hudson, Texas, Amanda Doyle and Husband James of Groveton, Texas, and Coy and Frances Rogers of Rogersville; Daughter in law Judy Rogers of Rogersville. 30 Grandchildren, 65 Great  Grandchildren and 36 Great Great Grandchildren. Numerous other relatives and friends.Pallbearers will be Jim Bob Rogers, Coy Lynn Rogers, Clayton Wallace, Joe Paul Rogers & Roger Doyle.and Roy Keith Rogers. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M.
