Roy Houston Brown, III
December 20, 1952-August 15, 2013

Roy Houston Brown, III joined God's hands on August 15, 2013 at the age of 60. He was born on December 20, 1952 in Lufkin, Texas to Roy Houston Brown, Jr. and Sarah Margaret Lowry Brown. Roy will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. That no smile, stern persona melted away when his granddaughters sat in his lap.

He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Houston Brown, Jr. and his survivors include his wife of 29 years Kathy Brown, of Groveton, Texas; his mother Margaret Lowry Brown, of Hudson, Texas; two sons, Clyde Houston Brown, of New Braunfels, Texas and SFC James "Jimbo" Carroll, of the United States Army currently stationed at Camp Zuma, Japan and his wife Tasha; two daughters, Amy Drummond and husband Greg, of San Antonio, Texas and Courtney Rector and husband Rich, of Tomball, Texas. Roy had seven grandchildren, Lindsay and Lauren Drummond, Jordan and Emily Rector, J.D., Tiara and Jaleen Carroll; one brother, Kirby Brown and his daughter Elizabeth, of Hudson, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lynn and Wayne Reynolds, of Groveton, Texas; cousin, Terry Nell Toler and husband Gordon, of Groveton, Texas; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Oaklawn Baptist Church in Groveton, Texas.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Oaklawn Baptist Church with Bro. Lester McAdams officiating.
