Memorial Services for Robert Arthur Thornton, 84 of Trinity will be held at 1:30 pm., Saturday, February 13 at the home of Mr. Thornton in Trinity, Texas.
The family would like to request that if anyone of his friends or Co-workers would like to share any of their memories please come and share your memories.

Robert was born on March 23rd, 1931 in Lovelady, Texas to the late Aaron Thornton and Dottie (Hashaw) Thornton. God called Mr. Thornton home on Monday, February 8th , 2016.

For many years Mr. Thornton worked for Parker Brothers Towing Company and later for The Texas Department of Transportation in Groveton. Robert loved reading, being outdoors and listening to music. He also enjoyed working on cars and he especially loved to collect tractors (John Deer to be exact). He also enjoyed watching television until his eyesight had begun to fail. Mr. Thornton was a very loving son, brother and uncle. He loved his family and enjoyed visiting with all of them until he was unable to get out and about.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Dottie Thornton; two brothers, Aaron Thornton, Jr. and Joseph Thornton and a sister, Cynthia Thornton.

Mr. Thornton is survived by his siblings: brother, Lester Thornton of Trinity, sister, Janie Thornton of Trinity, sister, Delma Lester of Shepherd, sister, Flodessa Starling of Kennard and sister, Nelda Haley and husband, Freddy Haley of Trinity. Survivors also include numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
