Funeral services for Mr. Robert Leo Strong, 83 of Apple Springs ,Texas will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Groveton Funeral Home Cartwright Memorial Chapel with Bro. James Whittlesey officiating.Interment will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Strong was born in Elkhart, Texas on August 31, 1929 and went to be with his Lord on May 25, 2013 in Lufkin, Texas.
He was a self employed logger and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
He is prececed in death by his wife Gertie Mae White Strong.
He leaves to survive his sons: Wayne Strong of Apple Springs and Danny Strong of Lufkin; daughters: Sandra Minshew of Apple Springs and Janet Grantom of Porter; Brothers: Virgil Strong of Hudson and Travis Strong of Centralia; Sister Sharon Merryman of Kennard; 12 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Richard Minshew, Colby Strong, Brandon Strong, Mark Strong, Kenneth Wright and Bryan Merryman; Honorary will be Donis Minshew and David Clubb.
Visitation will be from 9 till 11 before the services.
