Visitation for Mr. Reuben Gracia, 78 of Houston will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15th, 2016 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of the Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. and Reverend Jack McMahon officiating. Burial will follow services in Ellis Prairie Cemetery in Friday, Texas.
Mr. Gracia was born June 26th, 1938 in Camden, Texas and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 12th, 2016 in Houston, Texas. In Reuben's childhood, he grew up attending church at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lufkin, Texas. He loved the Lord and enjoyed learning about God's word. He later graduated from high school and signed up with the United States Army. He was an extremely hard worker and upon serving his time in the Army he went to work for a company by the name of Weco/FMC. He was employed with this company for twenty years. In his earlier years, he enjoyed driving race cars on the dirt tracks and going night fishing with his friends. He also enjoyed going hunting and camping with his family. He enjoyed life and even used to be a member of a little four-piece band known as "The Challengers." He loved his family and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He had a special place in his heart for the children and enjoyed coaching little league baseball and helping to mentor the youth for twelve years.
Mr. Gracia is preceded in death by his parents Adeilido and Pauline Gracia; his three brothers Ben, Bert and Abel Gracia and his two sisters Lydia Boles and Mary Martin.
Reubin is survived by his wife Nelda Gracia of Houston, Texas; his two children: sons Darrell Gracia of Spring, Texas and Terry Gracia of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren: Alyssa Gracia, Tyler Gracia and wife, Dulce Gracia and Courtney Gracia; four great grandchildren: Gage Gracia, Sophia Gracia, Taylor Gracia and Jayden Gracia; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
