Graveside services for Mr. Randall Leo "Shorty" Archer of Groveton will be held at the Bennett Cemetery on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating.
Mr. Archer was born in Wills Point, Texas on July 1, 1922 and passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2013 in Groveton, Texas at the age of 90 years,7 months and 2 days.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the Eastern Star Lodge #284 A.F. & A. M., the Groveton O.E.S. Chapter #1035. He was self-employed as a rancher, farmer, logger and an oil field worker. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy during WWII  and was the owner of Archer Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents :Wiley Andrew Archer and Cassie Elizabeth Barfield and a daughter Doris Due.;2 sisters and 1 brother, 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He leaves to survive a wife of 70 years Lorene Archer of Groveton; Daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth & Henry  Holcombe of Groveton, Texas; Son Randall Archer of Groveton, Texas; Sisters: Ollie Smith of Terrell, Texas, Willie Chandler of Chilton, Texas, Burell Fancher of Woodville, Texas and Maxcine Hart of Trinity, Texas. 5 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday morning from 10 -12  noon at the Groveton Funeral Home.
