Patricia Ann Smith was born in Trinity, TX to Marcelle and Thelma Schaeffer on February 3,1959. She married Archie Smith on July 4,1977 in Union Springs Baptist Church in Corrigan, TX and they resided in Groveton, TX where they raised their beautiful family. Patricia was called to her eternal home on June 30, 2020 in Groveton.
Patricia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She treasured her family, especially her grandchildren. Patricia loved to play 42 with her friends and family. She also enjoyed cooking, hosting family events, traveling with her loving husband and even sitting on her back-porch shelling peas from her garden. She loved the Lord and belonged as a member of First Baptist Church of Groveton where she and her family attended services. As her family, we are thankful for our time that we had with her and have so many cherished memories with her. We will always love and miss you mom.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Archie Smith; children: son, Johnathan Smith; daughter, Jessica Smith Monroe and son-in-law, Jonathon Monroe; son, Jacob Smith; foster daughter, Adeline Smith; siblings: sister, Wanda Schaeffer; sister, Laura Riddle and husband, Morris Riddle; brother, Mark Schaeffer and wife, Cindy Schaeffer; sister, Darlene King and husband, Tony King; grandchildren: Courtney, Garrett, Hannah, Chase, Ethan, Jay, Serenity, Luke, Mason, Scott, Jasper, Kendra and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Marquez and a brother, David Schaeffer.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Groveton, TX on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Groveton beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Prairie Cemetery in Groveton, TX.
