Opal Joyce (Nichols) Rogers, of Pennington, was born on November 25, 1930, to Arthur Lyndon Nichols and Georgia Elizabeth (Bayne) Nichols in Pennington, Texas and passed away peacefully to her eternal home in heaven on January 22, 2022, at the age of 91 years in Groveton, Texas.

Joyce loved to visit with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to cook for her family. She loved to hunt and fish (especially squirrels).
Joyce is survived by her loving son: Larry Darvin Rogers and wife, Debra of Crockett, TX; daughter: Brenda J. Erwin and husband, Lynn of Apple Springs, TX; grandchildren: Dewayne Rogers and wife, Mary, Carl Rogers and wife, Summer, Rhonda Lowery and husband, John, Steven Larsen and wife, Meagan, and Jason Larsen and wife, Marla; Great Grandchildren: Ashley Laurenti and fiancé, Johnathan Woychesin, Michael Rogers and wife, Chelsea, Darvin Rogers and wife, Ariel, Caroline Rogers, Trey Rogers, Kail Rogers, Nolan Larsen, Kolt Larsen, Drew Larsen, Lexi Larsen, Legend Larsen, Jessica Lowery, Mason Lowery, Logan Lowery; Great Great Grandchildren: Roman Laurenti, Timber Rogers, Henry Glenn Rogers, Brylee Raine Woychesin; brother-n-law: Billy Rhoden and wife, Ima of Lufkin, TX; sister-in-law: Wanda Rhoden of Centerville, TX; brother-in-law: Paul Rhoden and wife, Bennie Rhoden of Lufkin, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends also survive.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Elizabeth Nichols; brothers: Jim Roy Nichols, Norman Nichols, Calvin Nichols; sisters: Lilian Turner, Ola Mae Opry; Husband: Carl Darvin Rogers.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Rogers will begin at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 27, 2022 with Bro. Keith Jones officiating at Bennett Cemetery.  The family requests that everyone Please wear a mask.
