Norman William Larsen of Apple Springs passed away September 2, 2022, at the age of eighty-four. Norman was born on March 9, 1938, in Dexter, Missouri to father, William Larsen and mother, Ruth (Allstun) Larsen.
Norman graduated from Bloomfield high school in Bloomfield, Missouri. He worked and later moved to Houston, Texas. In 1962, he met and married the love of his life, Mary Paulette "Polly" Day. He also loved ranching. He genuinely enjoyed raising cattle, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a past president of the Trinity County Tri-Cities Little League and a former member of Independent Order of Foresters. Norman enjoyed being outdoors and could often be found out mowing his lawn. He also enjoyed putting together puzzles, watching sports and spending time with his pet dog "Deuce."
Mr. Larsen leaves behind to cherish his memories his children: son, Tony Larsen and wife, Cindy of Lufkin; daughter, Ciendy Johnson and husband, Roy of Conroe; son, Frank Thielen and wife, Vicki of Houston; grandchildren: Steven Larsen and wife, Meagan, Jason Larsen and wife, Marla, Tyler Lawson, and Travis Lawson; great grandchildren: Nolan, Kolt, Drew, Lexi, and Legend Larsen; sister, Hazel Perry and husband, Scott and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and many friends also survive.
Mr. Larsen is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary "Polly" Larsen; parents, William and Ruth Larsen; siblings: brother, Lee Larsen; sister, Wava Gillespie; sister and brother-in-law, Leah and Gene Phillips.
Visitation for Norman William Larsen will begin at 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2022, in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating.
