Nira Dell Norsworthy was born on January 7, 1929, in the Possumwalk Community of Groveton, Texas, to Lent Reynolds and Winifred Landrum Reynolds. She passed away on February 10, 2025, in Crockett, Texas, at the age of       ninety-six years.
Nira found her calling in serving others as a licensed vocational nurse for thirty-six years. She was an avid reader and prioritized her health with her daily walks. Her family enjoyed her independent spirit and candor. She was known as a confident life consultant to those she knew and always provided her services pro-bono. She was a hard worker and kept busy long after retirement. Her life perspective and presence will be missed. She lived a long and full life. A devout member of the
Groveton Church of Christ, her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she is now enjoying the streets of gold.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Winifred Landrum Reynolds; father, Lent Reynolds; husbands, John Henry Norsworthy and Les Haugen; brothers, Lynn Reynolds and wife Wayne Reynolds, Glen Reynolds, and wife Jimmi Reynolds; and grandson, John David Norsworthy, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Darlene Reynolds Johnson; brother in-law Marvin Norsworthy, sister in-laws Ola Mae Homes, Ima Jean Marburger; her son, John David Norsworthy, and his wife, Donna; granddaughter, Bridget Roth and her husband, Darrell; great-grandchildren, Jacob Norsworthy and wife Autumn, Katlyn Leon-Mojica and husband Tony, Grace Ellen Roth, Judd Roth, and Caroline Roth; great-great-grandchildren, Amelia and Adeline Norsworthy, Ximena Leon-Mojica; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, February 16, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM until the service time at 3:00 PM at Groveton Funeral Home. Brother Tim Beamon will officiate the services. Burial will follow at East Prairie Cemetery in the Possumwalk Community of Groveton, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers will be Darrell Roth, Judd Roth, Jacob Norsworthy, Gary Reynolds, Ronnie Paschall, and Calvin Holmes.
