Myrtle Lee Pillows was born on July 4, 1939 in Aiken, TX, the daughter of Samuel Whitton and Etta Mae (Hillard) Whitton and passed away May 22, 2018 in Groveton, TX.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, TX.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Fuller officiating and Bro. Glen Martin assisting.  Interment will follow in Bennett Cemetery in Apple Springs, TX.

Lee was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.  She loved the Lord and attended church at New Life Pentecostal Church in Corrigan, TX.  She loved to spend time with her family and her friends.  She especially loved creating new memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Lee worked as a nurse for over 15 years with the Hemphill Hospital.  She was a multi-talented woman.  She was an extremely hard worker and could do just about anything.  She was known for her creativity with crafts, painting and even doing construction.  She also enjoyed riding horses, working cattle and anything else to do with farming or ranching.

Mrs. Pillows is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Etta Mae Whitton and a son, Gary Whitton.  Her survivors include her loving husband, Garth Pillows of Groveton, TX; her children: son, John Layton of Barhart, MO, daughter, Connie Fuller of Groveton, TX, daughter, Bonnie Bunge of AZ, and son, Donald Layton of Athens, TX; sister, Erma Whitton of Etoile, TX; brother, Billy Whitton of Etoile, TX; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also, survive.
