Obituary

Minnie Ola Smith, age 91 of the Nogalus Prairie community was born on March 10, 1922 in Trinity County, Texas to her parents, Charlie T Davis and Lee Ola Parker Davis and went to be with her Lord on November 29, 2013. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Minnie Ola was a graduate of the Centerville High School and remained very active with the Centerville School Association. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Nogalus Prairie Quilters. She was an active member with the Prairie View Methodist Church for over seventy years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Smith; and daughter, Janice Smith. Her survivors include her son, Dr. Kenneth Lee Smith and wife, Jacquelyn Sue Smith, of Groveton, Texas; daughter, Geniece Rice and husband, Dr. Tom W. Rice, of Trinity, Texas; grandson, Todd Smith and wife, Jolie; granddaughter, Tonja Rice; granddaughter, Shannan Rolfsen and husband, Chris Rolfsen; granddaughter, Leah Butler and husband, Brian Butler; granddaughter, Heather Joslin; four great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
Visitation for Minnie Ola will be held from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Prairie View Methodist Church in Nogaulus Prairie. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 2, 2013 at Prairie View Methodist Church with Pastor Bro. Jack McMahon officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Calvary Cemetery in Nogalus Prairie.
