Melvin Homer Thompson, 82 of the Friday Community was born February 15, 1928 to Henry and Pearl Thompson. Mr. Thompson passed away on August 21, 2010.

Funeral Services for Mr. Thompson will be held Thurday, August 26, 2010 at 10AM in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of the Groveton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6PM-8PM at the Groveton Funeral Home.

Melvin Homer Thompson is survived by his Wife: Betty Thompson of Friday and his Daughter and Son-in-law: Janice and David Morrow of Lovelady. He is survived by his Sisters and Brothers-in-law: Susie and Chuck Coull of Friday, Norma Jean and Charles Bila of Cedar Park. Grandsons: Jeremy Gentry and Wife Marcia of Groveton, Ryan Gentry and Wife Brooke of Marble Falls, and Devin Gentry of Friday. Great Grandchildren: David, Megan, Lauren Katie, Sydney and Alli Gentry. Sisters-in-law Nell Lee and Shirley Zimmerman. Brother-in-law Truman Sanders. Numerous other relatives and Friends.

Pallbearers will be Brian Gentry, Ryan Gentry, Devin Gentry, Jeremy Gentry, David Gentry, and Autrey Miller.

Honorary Pallbearers are Oscar Armstrong, JD Anderson, and Charles Lively.
