Mellowayne
Davis
May 15, 1940 — Jun 4, 2024
Apple Springs
On June 4, 2024, Mellowayne Davis went home to be with the Lord at the age of eighty-four.
She was born on May 15, 1940, to Marlin Walker and Birdie (Gates) Walker, in Kennard, Texas. Mellowayne loved her family and she also especially enjoyed spending time with them as often as possible. She was extremely talented with arts and crafts, especially quilting and crocheting. She loved baking, gardening, fishing, and sitting out on her porch where she could observe all of nature's beauty. She worked as a beautician for thirty-three years before retirement.
Mrs. Davis was a member of Prairie View Methodist Church of Nogales Prairie and later, Calvary Baptist Church in Nogales Prairie. She was also a past member of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clell Davis; parents, Marlin and Birdie Walker and her daughter, Melanie Dian Davis.
She is survived by her sons, Clell Dwayne Davis and Carey Hayden Davis; brothers, Ralph Walker and Gene Walker; sister, Patsy Hamick; grandchildren, Callan Davis, Caylie and Carnline husband Billy, Connley Davis, Chase Davis, Shelby Davis, Nicole Davis and Lynette Davis; great grandchildren, Olivia Jane Carnline, Carmen Davis and Emma Jo Carnline.
Death leaves a memory no one can heal. But love leaves a memory no one can steal. She will always be loved and missed dearly by her family and friends.
Friends and family are cordially invited to visitation from 3 pm until 4 pm on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church of Nogales Prairie. Celebration of life service to follow at 4 pm at the Calvary Baptist Church of Nogales Prairie with Brother James Whittlesey officiating and Bro. Jeff Hastings assisting. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Nogales Prairie, TX.
