Funeral services for Maydelle Mills, 86 of Groveton, Texas will be held at 11:00 a. m. Thursday, February 1, 2018 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Lester McAdams. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Groveton, Texas.  Visitation will be held beginning at 6:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Groveton Funeral Home.

Maydelle was born on October 25, 1931 in Crockett, Texas to Ira and Lily Mae (Kennedy) Collins.   God called Mrs. Mills home on Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Groveton, Texas.

Mrs. Mills loved her church family, and she was very active within in the church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Spending time with her sister Irene, shopping and going out to eat were things she looked forward to every Sunday afternoon. She enjoyed taking care of her plants, and she especially loved the smell of Lavender.  She was a very hard worker. But in her off time, she played canasta with her ladies' card club, and enjoyed her Friday Night Lights attending Groveton Indian Football games.

Maydelle is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband William Richard Mills, and her son Steven Mills. She is survived by her children:  son, Gary Mills and wife, Janice of Valrico, Florida, son Scott Mills of Groveton, Texas, and son Randy Mills and wife Julie of Edgewood; grandchildren: Seth Mills, Emily Filichia, Cody Mills; great grandchildren: Zoe Mills, Peter Mills, Lucy Filichia, Abigail Filichia, Alex Mills; sister Irene Lowery and husband, L.D. of Groveton, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Cody Mills, Terry Mills, Marc Cloud, Seth Mills, Benny McClain and Jimmy Brown.
