Mary Louise
Wooten
Dec 1, 1943 — Jun 17, 2020
Groveton
Mary Louise Edgar Wooten, 76, of Groveton, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at her residence surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 20, at Groveton Funeral Home with Jack Black officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, at Groveton Funeral Home. Mary was a native of Nederland, Texas, and she graduated from Nederland High School in 1961. Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She was a homemaker, friend, sister, and Mimi, and she was loved by all. Mary worked hard to ensure her two children had a loving home and were well-cared for. They, and her husband, were her life. Mary loved to travel and could drive an extended cab long wheelbase pickup truck towing a fifth wheel through the mountains of Colorado and on the beaches of Florida. Jimmy and Mary were fortunate enough to travel over the years and were blessed to see places like Greece, Hawaii, and Jamaica. She is survived by her devoted son and wife, James E. Wooten Jr., and Miranda of Groveton; grandchildren: Lynsey Pruitt, husband Jackson, Lezlea Howell, and Matthew Howell; bonus grandchildren: Ashley Leger, Macy Sourdellia, and Taylor Sourdellia; great grandchildren: Kaisley Grace and Jasper Pruitt; sister: Linda Blount; brother: David Edgar; aunts: Billie Lane, Billie Jean Edgar Veal, Doris Edgar, and Dorothy Edgar; cousin: Gwen Park; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary could only bear to be in this world for thirteen weeks without the love of her life, James Ernest Wooten Sr., who passed away on March 18, 2020. Mary is also preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Denise Wooten, and parents, Wayne and Louis Edgar. Pallbearers are: Chad Edgar, David Edgar Jr., Kit Carson, Jackson Pruitt, Matthew Howell, and Jasper Pruitt. The family would like to thank everyone for their donations to the Facebook fundraiser: In Memory of Mary Wooten. These donations go directly to the Alzheimer's Association to end this disease.
