Mary Lee Baxter-Barraque Massie, age 80, of Trinity, Texas was born in Houston, Texas on August 26, 1938 and passed away on April 7, 2019 in Houston, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2019 at Taylor Cemetery in Trinity, Texas. Bro. Lewis Jones will officiate.

Mrs. Massie served as treasurer on Livingston Rural Water Board for over 20 years. She was an influential member who saw to it that many families were provided with quality water service. She helped Livingston Rural Water to grow and set up numerous water towers throughout the area. Mary also was a lifetime member of the NRA. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She loved being able to be a homemaker during much of her adult life. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She also loved fishing, gardening, doing crafts and preparing meals for her family and friends.

Mrs. Massie is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Beulah Barraque; husband, Robert Massie; life partner, Randall and her brother, Butch Barraque. She is survived by her children: son, Raymond Massie and wife, Diana of Spring, Texas; daughter, Connie Thrasher and husband, Edward Johnson of The Woodlands, Texas; daughter, Carol Dial and husband, Stuart Dial of Groveton, Texas; sisters: Ann, Agnes, Thelma, Kay, Margaret and Frances; grandchildren: Shelby, Sam, Andi, Robert, Mindy, Autumn, Stuart and Will;16 great grandchildren; 2 great- great grandchildren and a host of other beloved relatives and friends also, survive.
