Mary Alice Reese, age 90, of Groveton, Texas was born October 24, 1923 in Groveton, Texas to her parents, Hubbard Henderson and Bammer Scurlock Henderson. She worked as a dietary supervisor as well as a nurse's aide at the Groveton Nursing Home. She was very active with the Baldwin Chapel Baptist Church and served as the secretary treasurer of the choir while she was able to attend. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Reese; her parents and sister-in-law, Bessie Smith. Her survivors include her son, Robert Earl Reese and wife, Pat, of Maldraugh, Kentucky; sister, Shirley McDonald and husband, Thomas, of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Terrance Reese, Dshany A. Reese, Jarvis and Tabitha Reese; great grandchild, Adriene; Aunts and Uncles, Mr. and Mrs. O. Roland, of Houston, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. I. T. Scurlock; cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Jackie B. Smith and Mr. Danny Roland; brother-in-law, Olga Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

Wake services will be from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, December 6, 2013 at Groveton Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mary Alice Reese, will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Baldwin Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. David Horace officiating. Burial will follow in Parker's Ridge Cemetery.
