Martin Joe Kubiak, 57, of Apple Springs, Texas passed away peacefully on September 18, 2017 in Lufkin, Texas after his courageous battle with cancer.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating.

Martin was born to Irene Elizabeth (Christmas) Hearrell and Floyd Joseph Kubiak on February 21, 1960 in Houston, Texas.   Mr. Kubiak loved his family and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to be outdoors and throughout his battle with cancer he found peace in sitting outside on the patio watching the cattle. He also loved to hunt and fish until his health would no longer allow.  He also had a special pet dog by the name of "Duke" and he loved to spend time with "Duke".

Mr. Kubiak is survived by his daughter Krystal Conner and her husband Michael Conner of Lufkin; two sisters:  Robbie Lynn Morton of Nacogdoches and Donna Pyle and husband Michael Pyle of Apple Springs; three grandchildren Ashtyn Dwayne Redd, Rylan Tate Reed and Cadee Jo Conner; four nephews James Kubiak and wife Michelle Kubiak of Diboll, Danny Russell and wife Angela Kubiak of Douglas, Terry Morton of Lufkin and Scott Morton of Nacogdoches; one great niece; four great nephews; special friends Jana Forrest and the employees of Heart to Heart Hospice and many other much-loved relatives and friends who all had a special place in his heart.

Mr. Kubiak is preceded in death by his mother Irene Elizabeth Hearrell and his father Floyd Joseph Kubiak.
