Martha Frances Dial Safford, 85, of Groveton, Texas passed away peacefully on September 30, 2017 in Conroe, Texas.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas with Rev. Jack McMahon officiating.  Interment will follow in Carmona Cemetery in Carmona, Texas.

Martha was born to Augna (English) and Adwin Dial on August 12, 1932 in Groveton, Texas.  She was a graduate of Groveton High School and later married the love of her life, James Lamar Safford.  She and Mr. Safford had three children whom they loved dearly.  Martha was active within her children's lives and was absolutely the best Mom ever.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and playing cards and dominoes.  Martha was a past member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter #1035 and she was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Groveton.

Mrs. Safford is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her infant son, Jimmie Safford.  Her survivors include her partner in life, B.C. Hall of Groveton, Texas; her three daughters:  Gina Price and husband Jimmie of Shenandoah, Texas, Dian Zinda and her husband Russell of Camas, Washington and Codi Harris and husband James of Huntsville, Texas; six grandchildren:  Jaime Price Kercheval and husband Jason, Jordan Price, Joshua Schardt, Jacob Zinda, Macy McMullen Cisneros and husband Jonathan and Dustin McMullen; and one great granddaughter Jenevieve "Jenny" Perry Kercheval;  siblings:  brother, Winston Dial and wife Ina Grace, brother, Wayne Dial and sister Elizabeth "Becky" Dial Halpain and her husband Jerry, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who each had a special place in her heart.

Pallbearers:  Lyndal Dial, Brent Dial, Vance Dial, Bradley Baker, Charles Hubbard and Danny Tullos.

Honorary Pallbearers (Nephews):  David Dial, Denny Dial, Dale Dial, Lanny Tullos, Robert Hughes, Glenn Safford and Todd Safford.
