Marion S. Taylor, of Groveton passed away December 2, 2022, at the age of eighty-four. Marion was born on February 20, 1938, in Yoakum, Texas to father, Merity Elory Staggs and mother, Lorretta Louise (Hattenbach) Taylor.

Marion was loved by many. She was the third youngest of five children growing up in Yoakum, Texas. Her passion was music and her voice and ability to harmonize, attracted her late husband, Robert Taylor. She performed with the Big Band Orchestra until the family relocated to Groveton, Texas in the mid-sixties where her husband, Robert Taylor directed the school band.
Marion raised her children with structure and songs. She provided comfort and love to those who were in need. She became a registered nurse and provided care in the medical field for thirty-five years. She loved to care for others throughout her life. Her passion was harmonious music and enjoying the beauty of flowers and star lit nights along with the beautiful views of the moon. About everything you would say to her would trigger a song that she could sing word for word for verbatim. Her voice and words were of encouragement as she often said to us. "Beauty is what beauty does." Marion enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ms. Taylor retired from nursing when she was seventy-five years of age. She was known for her dedicated work ethic. Marion was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Groveton, where she enjoyed praise and worship through her choral talent.
Ms. Taylor leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving children: daughter, Cheryl Lynn Cartwright and husband, Terry of Groveton; daughter, Tina Jan Taylor of Groveton; son, Timothy Todd Taylor of Groveton; son, Jonathan Scott Taylor and wife, Janice of Groveton; brother, Michael W. Staggs of Yoakum; grandchildren: Cassandra Nolan and husband, Todd, Celeste Cartwright, Cristin Brown and husband, Jarrod, Chelsea Braddock and husband, Wade, Robin Taylor, Leticia Taylor, Jill Luna and husband Jose, Tammy Taylor, Jenny Taylor, Jessica Greenwood and husband, Myles,  Breanna Taylor, Jonathan Taylor; thirteen great-grandchildren: Sierra, Case, Landyn, Clark, Aidry, Haiven, Matti, Brynlee, Addyson, Noah, Natalie, Bria, and Sofia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and many friends also survive.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Groveton Funeral Home until funeral service time at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Hastings, officiating. Burial will follow the services at Glenwood Cemetery in Groveton.
