Lynn Reynolds, of Groveton, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the age of 91, peacefully in his home, surrounded by his beloved family. Lynn was born on August 25, 1930 in Possumwalk, Texas to parents, Lent Reynolds and Winifred Landrum Reynolds. In 1952, Lynn married his sweetheart, Velda Wayne Bayless. Over nearly 7 decades of marriage, they built a life filled with love, laughter and a little heartache. Together, their faith in Jesus Christ saw them through it all.

Lynn was a selfless man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. An early example of this was when he dropped out of school in the 8th grade to help his father on their family farm. It was then that he developed a life long fondness for ranching and raising cattle. He was the definition of a public servant. His calling to serve others first came in 1947 when he joined the United States Army where he served for two years in Ausburg, Germany. While serving his country, Lynn received his GED. He is most well known for his work as the Trinity County Commissioner for Precinct 1 for 36 years. A career he was mighty proud of. Lynn's accomplishments are a mile long. He was a dedicated Lions Club member for over 50 years, a Deacon at Oaklawn Baptist Church since January of 1962, and founder of the Carlisle Cemetery Association, just to name a few. He had a heart the size of Texas and never met a stranger.  Out of all of Lynn's accolades, he would want to be remembered most for his strong faith in our Heavenly Father and for the thing he was most proud of, his precious family.

Lynn leaves behind to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 69 years, Wayne Reynolds; children: daughter, Katherine Lynn Brown and

fiancé, Edward of Groveton; son, Gary Wayne Reynolds of Carlisle; grandchildren: Amy Lynn Nelson and husband, Chris of San Antonio, James Scott Carroll of Japan, Kevin Wayne Reynolds and fiancé, Amanda of Groveton, and Shelly Jean Reynolds of Groveton; step granddaughter, Courtney Rector and step grandson, Clyde Brown of Tomball; 15 great grand children; 6 great great grand children; siblings: sisters, Nira Dell Norsworthy of Pennington and Darlene Johnson of Rowlette; sister-in-law Lindy Reynolds; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

Lynn is preceded in death by his parents, Lent and Winifred Reynolds, his beloved son, Jerry Don Reynolds, brother, Glenn Reynolds, and son in law, Roy Brown, III.

The Reynolds Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Traditions Home Health in Crockett and to Lynn's wonderful caregivers: Crystal Quin, Desiree Jamison, Loradona Jacobsen, and his precious granddaughter, Shelly Reynolds.

The family will welcome visitors beginning, Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Oaklawn Baptist Church. Celebration of Life Services will be held Monday, December 13, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Oaklawn Baptist Church with Brother Lewis Jones officiating and Grover "Tiger" Worsham presenting the eulogy. Interment will follow at the Carlisle Cemetery.
