Loyd was born September 30 th, 1950 in Lufkin, Texas and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 16 th, 2017 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Richmond Lloyd and Vanna (Madden) Hamilton; sister Cecilia Hamilton; sister-in-law Judy Hamilton; mother of his children Peggy Hamilton Pitman and great granddaughter Alexis Cheyenne Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton enjoyed life. He enjoyed socializing with his friends and especially with his family. His grandchildren gave him the most joy. One of his favorite memories was when his grandson Shaun was about the age of six and he asked him if he wanted to have some ice cream. He told him "yes, Shaun that sounds good." Next thing he knew, Shaun was putting the ice cream into the microwave…. He thought that was the funniest thing that he'd ever seen and then he realized how smart that little boy was. Shaun told him "Papa, if you put it in the microwave for a few seconds then it's easier to dip it out of the container." Mr. Hamilton talked about that for years.
He also served during Vietnam in the United States Navy. After his time in the Navy he always managed to keep in contact with his fellow brothers and visit with them. He also had a love for music and enjoyed sitting around his home playing the guitar and singing.
Loyd is survived by his children: daughter Renee' Peterson of Diboll, Texas, son Michael Hamilton and wife Christy of Mays, Indiana and daughter Kelly Hamilton of Diboll, Texas; grandchildren: Cecilia Rooney, Shaun Rooney, Kayla Brown and husband Brandon, Cody, Carter and Mason Hamilton, Trinidy Thompson, Trenton Hamilton and Kevin Brown; great grandchildren William Jones and Kevin and Alyssa Brown; brother Cecil Hamilton of Apple Springs and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends.
