Graveside services for Lougena "Gena" Ellen Bowen, age 91, of Taunton, Massachusetts, formerly of Nogalus Prairie, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015 to be with our Lord. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 19, in the Calvary Cemetery at Nogalus Prairie, with Reverand Jack McMahon officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Lougena was born on October 8, 1924 to Edwin W. Sanner and Frances Sanner in Houston, Texas. She was raised in the Houston area with her three brothers and she later met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" J. Bowen, Jr. They were married February 14, 1944 and lived in Texas until June of 1964. They then moved to Denver, Colorado and stayed there until May of 1974. They returned to Texas and settled in the Groveton area or Nogalus Prairie until August of 2009. "Gena" moved to live with her son and his family in Taunton, Massachusetts after the death of her husband.

Survivors include her loving children, Robert "Bob" Bowen, III and wife, Lydia of Taunton, Massachusetts, Doris Bridges and husband, Ed of Calhan, Colorado; brother, George T. Sanner and wife, Kandy of Houston, Texas; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Gena is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin W. Sanner and Frances Sanner, her husband, Robert "Bob" J. Bowen, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Frances E. Hagen and John Hagen; three grandchildren, Dallas Bridges, Kim and Corrine; two brothers, Howard E. Sanner and William "Bill" O. Sanner.
