Lloyd Dean Pruitt, 68, of Groveton went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 18, 2015. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Groveton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Chita Baptist Church with Pastor Rus Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers, Charles De La Fosse, Phil De La Fosse, Russell Lee, Richard Lee, Ryan Lee, Randall Lee and Andrew Lee.

Mr. Pruitt was a life-long resident of Groveton, Texas. He graduated from Groveton High School and went on to attend Sam Houston State University where he graduated with a Bachelor Science Degree. Shortly thereafter, he joined the work force and worked as an Industrial Draftsman for Lufkin Industries for many years until his Retirement. Mr. Pruitt later worked for Gardener Oil as a driver and Retired again. He also served as a Deacon as well as the treasurer of his family church at Chita Baptist Church. He also had a love for cattle and it was his life. He enjoyed working his cows and in his down time he enjoyed watching football. He was a very loving son, brother, uncle and a friend to many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Samuel Pruitt and Lillar Beatrice De La Fosse Pruitt and his two sisters, Charline Pruitt Tullos and Genevieve Pruitt. Dean leaves behind his two nieces, Charlotte Y'Barbo and husband, Rickie and Sharlene Yarbrough and husband, Arthur; three great nephews, Andrew Y'Barbo, Saumuel Yarbrough and Caleb Yarbrough; numerous other relatives and friends, also survive.
