Lewis Marlin Evans was born in Holly, TX to Lewis E. Evans and Johnnie Burke Evans on January 13,1942 and was called to his eternal home on July 13, 2020 in Groveton, TX.
Lewis was a wonderful husband and a devoted father. He loved his family. Lewis graduated from Groveton High school in 1961 and later married his wife Patricia Hebert. He was an ordained deacon of the church in 1969 and was incredibly involved with the youth programs with the church during his younger years. Lewis enjoyed working and feeding cattle. He loved spending time in the country and riding around on his tractor to do repairs.
Mr. Evans is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Evans; daughter, Janet Evans Hutchinson and husband, Eddie Hutchinson; sister, Berline Evans Musick; brother, James Bertice Evans; nephews: John, Pete and Michael Musick; niece, Kelly Kirby; nephew, Jason Kirby and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis, and Johnnie Evans and brother-in-law, John Musick.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Friday in Groveton, TX on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. Bro. Lewis Jones will officiate, and burial will follow in Ellis Prairie Cemetery in Groveton, TX.
