Lena Dale Banks was born on June 15, 1933 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to her parents, Wister Bates and Elizabeth Anderson Bates and passed from this earth on January 21, 2014 in Groveton, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family and enjoyed numerous activities with them. She especially enjoyed sitting down to do crocheting, sewing or any needle work. She also had a great love of painting, reading and traveling. In the evenings, she had begun a nightly regimen of playing gin on the computer with her daughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two of her children, Ronald E. Banks and Sharolyn Ann Banks. She leaves behind her loving husband of sixty-four years, Richard Banks, of Groveton, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Candace Banks Henthorne and Jeffrey Lee Henthorne, of Spring, Texas; two grandsons, Ryan Dale Henthorne, of Houston, Texas and Richard Lee Henthorne, of Spring, Texas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley Bush Helzberg and Barnett Helzberg, of Mission Hills, Kansas and their eight grandchildren; two nephews, Barnett Helzberg, IV, of Boston, Massachusetts and Bush Helzberg, of Mission Hills, Kansas; cousin, Dottie Kurth, of Carrolton, Missouri. A host of other relatives and friends, also survive.

No services will be held at this time but the family will do so at a later date.
