Funeral services for Mr. Lee Coy Smith of Groveton, Texas will be held on Tuesday, April 9 at 2:00 P.M. at the Groveton Funeral Home Cartwright Memorial Chapel with Bro. Lester McAdams officiating. Interment will be in Boontown Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born in Trinity County, Texas on June 8, 1932  to Arch E. Smith and Rosa Eloby Evans Smith and passed away on April 7, 2013 in Groveton, Texas at the age of 80 years. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Groveton Lions Club. He was a veteram of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force.  Mr. Smith was newspaper editor/printer for Polk Co. Publishing working in the Groveton Newspaper office for many years.
He leaves to survive his wife: Ivor Smith of Groveton; sister: Audrey Reeves of Montgomery; Sons:Gerald Lee and James Richard of Seagoville and Wesley Emitt Smith of Dallas; Daughters: Vanessa & husband Johnny Woods of St. Petersburg, Florida and Angel Smith of Galveston;  Grandchildren: Jake and Leeland Smith of Groveton,Kaleb Harris of Kaufman,
Kylee Lawrence of Linden, Karlie and Kaycee Smith of Kaufman, Mother-in-law Ivor Lorine Fannie of Groveton; numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Steve Russell, David Whitaker, Billy Fannin, Leonard Reeves, Mary Prinkard and Allen Borcher,
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Groveton Funeral Home.
