Lecil Texas McBride, age 80, of Groveton, Texas was born in Malakoff, Texas on December 14, 1938 and passed away on April 3, 2019 in Lufkin, Texas. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Bro. Lester McAdams will officiate. Burial will follow at Bennett Cemetery. Mrs. McBride will be escorted to her final resting place by her grandchildren and other family.

Mrs. McBride was a past member of Oaklawn Baptist Church where she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved being able to be a homemaker and spending time babying her grandchildren. Lecil also loved walking barefoot in the grass, reading books, snacking on cookies and taking pictures. She had a natural talent with photography. She practiced photo shoots with her family anytime she was given the opportunity.

Mrs. McBride is preceded in death by her parents, Robbie and Johnsie Johnson Davis and a sister, Gayle Houck. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Dorman D. McBride of Groveton, Texas; son, Doug McBride and wife, Angela McBride of Quinlan, Texas; daughter, Kelli McBride Fails and husband, Mark Fails of Groveton, Texas; brother, Rusty Davis of Groveton, Texas; sister, Jenny Bridges of Molina, Colorado; sister, Cynthia Wright of Houston, Texas; grandsons: Claton McBride, Cameron McBride, Cason McBride, Luke Fails and Matt Fails; four great grandchildren and special friends: Juanell and Glen Little of Groveton, Texas, David Antley of Groveton, Texas, Linda Fondren of Groveton, Texas and Betty Barkley of Diboll, Texas. A host of other beloved relatives and friends also, survive.
