Obituary

Kenneth Ray Fry, 67, of Apple Springs went to be with his Lord and Savior June 3, 2015 in Lufkin, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2015 at Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Lynsey Nimmons officiating. Mr. Fry will be escorted to his final resting place in Mount Zion Cemetery in Apple Springs by his pallbearers Dwayne Fry, Randall Fry, Tyler Fry, Wrangler Fry, Rodger Floyd and Darrell Forrest. Honorary pallbearers are James Due, Herman Pillows, Jimmy Pate, Kenneth Smith and Micho Hale.

Mr. Fry was born May 25, 1948 in Lufkin, Texas. He moved to Apple Springs in his later years and raised his family with his loving wife of forty-eight years, Barbara Sullivan Fry. He was very active within the community and served on the Centerville School Board for thirty-one years. He was a member of Apple Springs Baptist Church and a past director of Mount Zion Cemetery Association Board. He served as a member of Texas Logging Council and was President of Atchley Lumber Company. Kenneth enjoyed farming, ranching, and logging and finally decided to slow down once his great grand baby arrived. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harvey Fry and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. His survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Fry, of Apple Springs; two sons, Randall Fry and wife, Robin, of Apple Springs and Dwayne Fry and wife, Diane, of Apple Springs; mother, Lonie Mae (Pillows) Fry, of Diboll; brother, Kevin Fry and wife, Evelin, of Trinity; five grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler, Lynsey, Wrangler and Lacer; four great grandchildren, Briley Rae, Brayden, Carson, and Hadley and a host of other relatives and friends, also survive.
