Juanita Faye McCarty, of Groveton, formerly of Jacksonville passed away October 7, 2022, at the age of ninety-three. Juanita was born on February 10, 1929, in Galveston County, Texas to father, Claude McCarty and mother, Alice (Cox) McCarty.

Juanita loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed educating the youth. She taught for Jacksonville Junior High School for twenty-five years until her retirement. In Juanita's younger years, she enjoyed going square dancing every weekend and visiting with her family and friends. Juanita also loved to read.
Ms. Mc Carty leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving children: daughter, Donna Faye McCarty of Raymondville, TX; daughter, Susan Montemayor and husband, Ralph of Groveton, TX; son, George McCarty and wife, Susan of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren: Duffy Lewis and wife, Chason, Johnna Sandifer, R.J. Montemayor, Russell McCarty and wife, Haley, Brad McCarty and wife, Aly; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and many friends also survive.

Ms. McCarty is preceded in death by her parents: Claude and Alice McCarty; sister, Evelyn Phillips; and sister, Bobbie Davidson.
