Johnny David Isham, of Groveton, was born on August 30, 1949, to David Isham and Vera Lee (Bentley) Isham in Galena Park, Texas and passed away peacefully to his eternal home in heaven on January 26, 2022, at the age of 72 years in Groveton, Texas.

Telephone John loved to visit with family and friends, and let's not forget the "DONUT DUDES" at the morning gathering place Dee Dee Donuts. He loved watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Telephone John was retired from the General Telephone Company that he worked for, for thirty plus years. He loved to be outside working in the yard and in the garden. He also enjoyed watching Documentaries (History Buff). He loved to travel. Telephone John loved living in his home state of Texas.

"Telephone John" is survived by his loving children: daughter: Samantha Meyer and husband, Craig; son: Aaron Isham; daughter: Anneka Wood  and husband, Gary Bob Wood; Grandchildren: Johnny David, Jessica, Marissa, Myah, Madison, McKenna, Megan: special friends; Gideon and Jack: sisters: Carolyn Otto, Mary Debusdevelempre, Kathy Yost, Sherry Melillo; brothers: Ricky Isham and Tony Ellis; sister-in-law: Rosalie Isham: brothers-in-laws: Dwight Otto, Emil Debusdevelempre; extended family: Red and Sandra Eveleigh; one loving dear special friend: Sandra Salih;  and a host of Cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends also survive. Great friends of Groveton and Trinity County.

Telephone John is preceded in death by his parents: David Isham and Vera Young; brother: Tommy Ray Isham.

The family will welcome visitors beginning Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 10:00a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at the Cartwright Memorial Chapel in the Groveton Funeral Home.
