John Ronald "Ronnie" Pitman was born on December 10, 1941 in Houston, TX, the son of John and Betty (Roberts) Pitman and passed away peacefully at his beloved lake home on March 31, 2018.

In his early years he owned and operated Eat-N-Time Restaurant then later moved to his home he built on the lake in Etloile, TX.  At that time, he opened RTC Motors in Lufkin, TX where he met his second love, Peggy Hamilton whom he lost in 2016.  He enjoyed his grandkids, vacationing and sitting his back porch taking in the view of the lake.

Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Groveton Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Williams officiating.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Nogales Prairie, TX.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy Hamilton Pitman; parents, John and Betty Pitman; brother, Michael Pitman and a sister, Betty "Sis" Pitman.  His survivors include his loving children: daughter, Dana Chaka and husband, Rick of Frisco, TX; daughter, Rhonda Pitman of Lufkin, TX; granddaughters, Christi Chaka, Tessie Chaka, Sommer Chaka; grandson, Derek Veatch; great- granddaughter, Katie Veatch; step-children: daughter, Kelly Hamilton of Diboll, TX, son, Michael Hamilton and wife, Christy of Mays, IN, daughter, Rene Peterson of Zavalla, TX; step-grandchildren:  Trinidy Thompson, Trenton Hamilton, Brandon and Kayla Brown, Cody Hamilton, Carter Hamilton, Mason Hamilton, Cecilia Rooney and Shaun Rooney; step-great grandchildren, William Jones, Kevin Brown, Alyssa Brown and Elijah Brown; brother, Tommie Pitman and wife, Bonnie; brother, Kenny Pitman and a host of other relatives and friends also, survive.

A special thank you to all of you who cared for our dad and filled his last weeks with so much love and compassion.  He will be missed dearly by many.
