John Foster Mabry, age 91, of Pennington, formerly of Houston, completed his earthly journey and went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 1, 2014 in Crockett, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 4, 2014 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with Rev. Jack McMahon officiating. Burial will follow in Possum Walk Cemetery.

John was born on March 24, 1923 to his parents, Daniel Mabry and Abbie (Madden) Mabry in the Possum Walk Community of Trinity County. He served in the United States Navy and fought in WW II. He worked for MATTCO, Inc. for thirty-four years until retirement. He was very much a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He leaves his legacy behind to his wife, Christine Mabry, of Pennington, Texas; his children, two sons, J. D. Mabry and Ronald Wayne Mabry, both, of Conroe, Texas; daughter, Mary Kathryn Mabry, of Groveton, Texas; two siblings, brother, Billy Gene Mabry, of New Caney, Texas and sister, Pearl Taylor, of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, also survive.
