John Eddie "J.E." Anderson of Friday, Texas was born on March 19,1939 in Friday, TX to the late Jerome and Estelle (Bagwell) Anderson and went to his eternal home on April 15,2021 at the age of 82 years in Tyler, TX.

J.E. loved spending time outdoors and doing anything that involved using his tractor.  He enjoyed farming, raising cattle and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors anytime that someone was in need.  He served as the fire chief for the Friday Volunteer Fire Department, President of the Friday Community Center and Friday Buyers Group.  Most of the community thought of him as "mayor."  J.E. also, served as a longtime member of the Trinity County Fair Board.  He genuinely enjoyed being able to help the youth.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his loving Wife of almost 45 years, Linda (Burcham) Anderson of Friday, TX; Sister, Louise Antley of Friday, TX; Daughter-in-law, Dawn Anderson of Sealy, TX; Step-Daughter, Angela Lofty of Tennessee; Grandchildren: Paige Sandifer, Jeffrey Phillips and wife, Sada Phillips, Julie Rubin and husband, Quentin Rubin; Great Grandchildren:  Kayla Rubin, Gabriel Rubin, Alexander "Zander" Rubin, Raelynn Black, Olivia Phillips and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Jerome and Estelle Anderson; Daughter, Karen Melinda Phillips; Son, David Wayne Anderson; Brothers: Billy Joe Anderson and Jerry Mac Anderson; Sister, Eloise Anderson Parker.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Groveton Funeral Home.  Funeral services for Mr. Anderson will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis-Anderson Cemetery.
