John Freeman was born November 26, 1946, in Friday, Texas. He peacefully returned to his heavenly home Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Weaver Freeman Sr., and Lillie (Butler) Freeman; brothers, Weaver "Bo" Freeman, Willie Freeman.
John is survived by his daughter, Stacey Stockinger and husband, Curtis of Tomball; son Jonathan Michael Freeman of Spring, TX; daughter, Kimberly Freeman of Crockett; grandchildren: Jordan Stockinger, Kevin Stockinger, Ryan Stockinger, Coy Stockinger, Ty Tuff Stockinger, Cody Beard, Bradley Freeman, three great granddaughters; sisters, Laura Morgan and husband, L.D. of Sherman, Fran Whittenton of Longview, and a host of Nieces, Nephews and Other Relatives also survive.
John served in the United States Army. He enjoyed being outdoors. John loved farming, taking care of his small group of cattle and gardening as long as his health permitted. John enjoyed spending time with his family, serving his church. He was a member of the Pennington Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mr. John Freeman will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Drew Scott and Bro. Bud Magee. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Groveton Funeral Home until service time and burial will follow the services in Pennington Cemetery in Pennington, Texas.
