Funeral services for Joe Martin Mericle, 80, of the Possumwalk Community will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 29, in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of the Groveton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in East Prairie Cemetery in Possumwalk. The family will receive visitors Tuesday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at Groveton Funeral Home.

Joe was born on December 17, 1935 in Creet, Texas to Waytt and Earstine (West) Mericle and passed away December 25, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judith Ann (Corolis) Mericle and a son, Robert Joe Mericle.

Mr. Mericle is survived by his daughter, Tressa Ann and husband, Robert Fulmer of Houston; grandchildren, Kassie Leigh Fulmer and Robert Cody Fulmer both of Houston; brother, Glen Mericle of Cleveland; brother, Leonard (Leo) Mericle of Splendora; brother, Wayne and wife, Lana Jean Mericle of Possumwalk; sister, Evelena Mericle Blue of Possumwalk; and a host of other relatives and numerous friends.
